Events raised so much money – it was just frightening!

Spooktacular fundraising events were taking place at the weekend (October 27 and 28).

Two friends raised £264 in aid of a South African orphanage at a charity Halloween party.

Kirsty Dilley and Helen Coombs, who both live in Langford, raised the money at The Golden Lion pub in Clifton.

The fundraiser was one of a series of events the two are organising to support House of Hope, which they will be visiting.

Kirsty said: “I would like to thank Mark and Abby and Kevin who did the disco.”

Sainsbury’s in Biggleswade also raised £340 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, the store’s local charity of the year, by arranging Halloween activities.

Further cash was raised with a charity van pull, which raised £400 and a store quz on Sunday evening, which raised a fantastic £780.

Sainsbury’s will continue fundraising for the charity until April.
