A family who are campaigning for more research to be done on a rare form of cancer are holding a fundraising event on Saturday (November 3).

Angela Butcher of Biggleswade has been diagnosed with small cell ovarian cancer, a very rare form of the disease.

Angela, her brother Mark and the rest of the family are holding a charity event at 11, The Grove, Biggleswade from 10am to 4pm and they are hoping to raise £10,000.

Angela said: “Our original fundraising target of £1,000 has been totally smashed by so many generous people, including very close friends who are undertaking personal sponsorships for head shaves and body waxes.

“Everyone has been extremely supportive and the bar has been raised!”

The event will include a grand sale, tombola, refreshments, face painting and more.
