Garden’s public open day
A couple will be opening their garden for charity once again.
Each year Richard and Liz Whitlock open their garden gate at 8 Potton Road, Wrestlingworth to raise funds for good causes.
These year they are opening a little later than usual to show their visitors plants that are at their best in the late summer.
Richard said: “The garden has been a particular challenge this year with the dry spring and wet and dull summer interspersed with some really hot spells but Liz and I are confident there will be plenty to see.”
The 13 acre garden includes wildflower and woodland walks, a poplar coppice, an orchard, flowerbeds and an arboretum.
There will also be tea and cake refreshments, a mini choral concert given by local professional and semi-professional musicians, a plant sale, a raffle and a quiz.
The couple look forward to welcoming plant enthusiasts as well as people who just like a day out in the country and hope they can raise a lot of money. Go along between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday, September 16. All funds raised will go to Wrestlingworth Pre-school and the National Garden Scheme.
