The government has confirmed that MPs will vote on the HS2 Phase 1 Hybrid Bill later this month.

The bill is now at its second stage, and Vale MPs David Lidington and John Bercow did not vote on the controversial plans.

Conservative Mr Lidington, who represents Aylesbury, is a government minister and is therefore required to vote with the government. But so far, he has missed the ballot on this topic.

Mr Bercow, who represents Buckingham is speaker of the House Of Commons and does not get a vote, he has however said that he is against the plans.

If the House of Commons votes in favour, the bill will go before the House of Lords.

April 28 is the first day back for MPs after the two and a half week Easter recess.
