A village show was a tremendous success on Sunday.
Shefford Majorettes (pictured) were the special guests at Caldecote Village Show. Luckily the weather held until the very end of the show. As well as the usual vegetable growing and cake making competitions there were stalls from local organisations and playground equipment for the children.
New for this year were the archery and wellington throwing contests. And there were plenty of sporting events including raw egg throwing – and sometimes catching – plus wet sponge relay races. To make matters even more interesting bags of flour were added to the mix. The show was organised by Linda Smith and her team. Prizes were presented by Councillor Caroline Maudlin, chair of Central Beds Council, just as a rainbow appeared over the merry-go-round!
