A Chicksands man has admitted threatening to kill a woman.

On Thursday, October 10 Matthew John Way, 28, sent a text message to Faye Carroll, which contained a threat to kill her.

His case was heard in the domestic violence section of Bedford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (January 7).

Mr Way, who has a current care of address of Victoria Park Avenue in Leyland in Lancashire, pleaded guilty to the threat to kill but declined to enter a plea for six counts of assault by beating.

These counts, all with regards to Ms Carroll, allegedly occurred between Sunday, July 22 2012 and Thursday, October 10 2013.

Each of the assaults is said to have taken place in Sandy.

Ms Carroll made a report to the police following the threatening text message.

When giving her statement about the text she also reported the incidents of assault, with which Mr Way has now been charged.

Miss Anderson, representing Mr Way, requested that the case be adjourned.

The magistrates agreed to adjourn the case until Tuesday, January 21.

Mr Way has been released on bail. He may not contact Ms Carroll or visit Harverfordwest in Wales where she may be.

He is forbidden from going to Hitchin Dental Centre where witnesses work.
