TV personality visits Luton hat factory

Aspiring MP for Luton South Esther Rantzen tipped her titfer to Walter Wright Ltd on Monday, March 8, when she visited to try on some of the milliner's designs.

The television personality, who is running as an independent candidate in the coming general election, dropped into the Albion Road hat factory for a tour and admired the hats produced there.

She even made a purchase, taking home a black bowler hat that she fell in love with during the visit.

Philip Wright told the Luton News: "She just liked it and thought she could use it for a number of occasions.

"Esther wanted to get to know more about the historic trade of the town and if she becomes MP she can perhaps get involved in assisting, helping and highlighting the trade. We are decreasing but we are

specialising.

"If she is successful in her bid to become MP she wants to hold an event for Luton hats."
