Have your say about homes
Have your say about the location of new homes.
South Cambs District Council is consulting with people before creating its local plan.
Everyone is being asked to give opinions on options for between 4,300 and 9,300 additional homes to support a possible growth of between 14,000 and 30,000 new jobs up to 2031.
The new homes would be in addition to the 14,200 homes that have already been given planning permission or are part of the council’s current local plan.
People are being asked their opinions on whether most homes should be built on the edge of Cambridge, as a new town or village or on land in and around the district’s larger villages that have more amenities such as shops and schools, and where good transport links exist.
The local plan will also include policies to protect historic village character, local green spaces and local services and facilities.
A consultation event will be held at Gamlingay Village College on Tuesday (September 4) from 3pm to 8pm. You can also comment online at www.scambs.gov.uk
The consultation will close at noon on Friday, September 28.
