Helping the poor at harvest time

Youngsters celebrated the harvest by giving food to the needy.

Students at Henlow Academy supported The Need Project. The project is based in Kings Baptist Church in Stotfold and it distributes food parcels to less fortunate members of society.

Pupils brought in enough food to create 20 emergency parcels for families in the local area.

Gordon Hamilton from The Need Project said: “It has been really encouraging to see the amount of support shown to our project by the pupils and staff of Henlow Academy.

“These young people are certainly aware of the difficulties faced by some families in our community and, more importantly, are willing to act in order to help. We are very grateful to them and other schools in our community for their support with our work.”

Additional food items were given to Bob King, who works with local families in need.
