How you can do more in the half term

Youngsters can join a volunteering project this half term.

The Central Youth Volunteering Project (CYVP) is running an arts and crafts session to raise money for St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.

Teenagers can make greeting cards, jewellery and a community cookbook at the hospice on Tuesday, February 19 from 10am to 3pm. And on Thursday, February 21 they can help run a stall selling cakes and other goodies at Ampthill Market to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. This will be from 9am to 1pm.

The Central Youth Project is run for 13 to 18-year-olds in Central Bedfordshire. By volunteering for 10 hours or more they can gain a nationally recognised accreditation.

This can include local events, conservation, sports and more.

To find out more contact Sarah Bigg on sarah@bedfordvb.org.uk or 01234 213100 or follow the Central Youth Volunteering Project on Facebook.
