Discover more about your local area with a series of talks.
Sandy Tourist Information has organised three autumn and winter talks this year.
The first Talk is called Roman Sandy and this takes place on Thursday, October 3.
It will be given by the AOC Archaeology Group from Twickenham. AOC recently completed a seven week excavation in advance of the new Tesco store in New Road. This site has long been known as the location of a Roman cemetery.
AOC will tell listeners about Roman Sandy in general and about the discoveries found during the dig earlier this year.
You will also be able to see the Roman Sandy Story display in the council chamber, which includes such items as pottery, coins, bronze brooches, animal bone and sculpture.
The cost will be £5 per person. Refreshments will be served by members of the Sandy Historical Research Group for which donations are asked to raise funds for their work.
The talk will be in the Cambridge Road council offices in Sandy. Book ahead with the TIC on 01767 682728.
