Featuring a road layout, the area will be ideal for role play and for children to use the pre-school’s ride-on and push-along toys.

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, which is building new homes just a short walk from the pre-school, at The Paddocks in New Road, donated £750 to the project’s overall £8,000 cost.

Treasurer of the pre-school’s management committee, Sally Lawrence, said: “The area previously contained a ramp which we had removed and although we put temporary flooring down it wasn’t really very useable for the children especially when it was wet and muddy.

“We have a fantastic fundraising team who’ve helped make the resurfacing project possible by organising fundraising events and reaching out to local businesses like Taylor Wimpey.

“We were delighted to have recently retained our ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted and outdoor provision is an important part of providing an outstanding learning environment for the children. We’re looking forward to having the newly resurfaced area for the children to use during the summer.”
