Listening to voters’ views

A concerned resident has said that the council is not listening to people’s views.

Stephen Allen of Sandy questioned the provision for extra traffic along New Road and the A1 once Tesco arrives and more houses are built.

He complained that his statement at a Central Beds Council executive meeting was not fully minuted.

He added that he did not receive a written response as the minutes said he would or allowed to ask a question at a later meeting.

But Councillor Brian Spurr, executive member for sustainable communities services said that the council has written to Mr Allen and that he did have the opportunity to ask a question.

And he is confident that the minutes provide a correct account of each meeting.
