Looking plaque to the past

Have your say

This week’s plaque is located in Biggleswade market square, where Iceland now trades.

The premises was formerly the home of Maythorn Coachworks.

John Maythorn, a manufacturer of horse-drawn carriages moved from Sun Street to the site in 1869. Following a fire in 1923 the factory was rebuilt but later closed in 1931.
