Philip set for SkillBuild showdown

A Luton college student has won through to the final of a national construction skills competition.

Philip Tamke of Barnfield College secured his place in the final of SkillBuild 2010 following a sterling performance in the plastering category of the east of England heat.

He will battle it out with more than 80 talented trainees in the final at Coleg Menai, north Wales, on September 8-10.

Philip is one of seven trainees from the region to make the final.

SkillBuild is part of the WorldSkills UK competition framework of around 70 skills competitions spanning a variety of sectors.
