Man in hospital after flats assault

Serious assault at sheltered accommodation

A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after an assault at flats in Luton early this morning (Thursday, September 2).

Police were called to sheltered accommodation in Robert Allen Court in Langley Street at 5am and found the 61-year-old man seriously hurt.

He was taken to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital and later transferred to the Royal Free Hospital in London. His condition is described as serious but stable.

A 69-year-old man has arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody at Luton Police Station.
