Man killed on railway track named
A RAILWAY station was brought to a standstill after a man was killed on the line.
The incident took place at Biggleswade Railway Station on Wednesday.
Police and paramedics were called just after 9.30am but 63-year-old Peter Williams, of Jubilee Lane in Langford, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Services to Biggleswade from both Peterborough and London King’s Cross were cancelled until around 2.30pm and the footbridge over the railway was cordoned off.
Several trains were cancelled while those that were still running stopped at other stations on the line but went straight through Biggleswade station.
An inquest into the death was opened and adjourned by coroner David Scott Morris yesterday (Thursday).
