Matt Lees pledged his support to Angela’s small cell ovarian cancer research fund at The Eve Appeal, by setting up a JustGiving page, leading to playing the live game on June 25, with his friend Chris Bratt, with a target of £2,500.

But following his video release on June 21 explaining why he was supporting Angela’s Fund, his target was smashed and rose to £5,000. He explained that his partner, Emma Houlston, was living with the side effects of chemo for this rare and aggressive disease and was by no means out of the wood

On the day of the game, his supporters around the world pledged whatever they could afford – some of them students admitting they were going without to donate. Donations varied between £2 to one individual giving £1,000, soon allowing Matt to up his targets throughout the day to £7,500, £10,000 and finally, when

the pair were thoroughly exhausted late that evening, to an amazing £15,000.

Whilst the game is over, Matt pledged additional activities throughout the next couple of weeks and aims to add to the pot and reach this target, currently over £13,357 at www.justgiving.com/PantsMan.

The fundraising will boost to Angela’s Fund and help with extending work at The Cambridge University Genetics Research Centre.
