Miss Bedfordshire triumphs

Teenager proves she can beat the bullies

A teenager has proved she can beat the bullies after she was crowned Miss Bedfordshire 2010.

Malin Andersson has won the title after battling it out against a bevy of beauties.

She takes over the crown from former Shefford woman Anna Watts.

Malin, 17, who was forced to leave school after she had taken her GCSEs because of bullies, was overjoyed to be crowned the winner of the beauty contest.

She said: "I only really went for it as a bit of a confidence boost because I was feeling quite down because of all the bullying.

"My boyfriend's sister won Miss Cheshire and told me how great it was for her confidence.

"So I just decided to go for it as a bit of a laugh, but wasn't really expecting to get past the first round."
