A very special visitor will be heading to one of our libraries to celebrate National Libraries Day on Saturday, February 8.
Hugless Douglas, the bear in David Melling’s popular picture books, will be calling in on story and craft sessions in Biggleswade.
Additionally, at Sandy Library characters from fairy tales will be sharing the magic of their stories. There will also be fabulous fairy themed colouring and the crafts, including making a magic wand.
Quiz fans should head for Potton and Stotfold libraries where there will be a series of brain-teasing questions for children and adults. Collect a quiz sheet for the chance to win a prize.
Central Beds Councillor Brian Spurr, executive member for sustainable communities, services, said: “We love our libraries and we know residents do too which is why we’ve invested in them so heavily.
“National Libraries Day should be fantastic because we’ve got such a packed series of events.
“Go along and see how many events we run. Our libraries are about more than just books; they offer a great opportunity to keep the kids occupied and meet new friends.”
