New bobbies on the beat!
Potton and Sandy get new PCSOs
New bobbies are on the beat as two Police Community Support Officers join the force.
Michela Didonato, 23, and Lisa Antoine, 22, are the two newest PCSOs to be based at Biggleswade Police Station, and will be out and about in Potton and Sandy.
And the pair said they could not wait to get stuck in and were looking forward to meeting the community.
Michela, who previously trained as a hairdresser, said: "I just want to get out there now, I'm really excited. It's been seven weeks of hard work but it's well worth it.
"I went to college and did hairdressing before, but I wasn't really happy and it gave me the push to do what I really wanted."
Both would ideally like to join the regular police force, but say they will not make a decision about whether to make the switch until they have experienced life on the beat as a PCSO.
Lisa added: "We're the eyes and ears of the community. If people don't want to talk to a regular officer we're the friendly face out there seeing what's going on.
"If people want someone to talk to or just a chat, come and see us."
