New lines will make everything all white for drivers

White lines will return to a stretch of road following a series of complaints.
Motorists appealed to Central Beds Council’s highways department to paint news lines on Sutton Road, which runs between Sutton and Dunton following resurfacing work.
Central Beds Councillor Adam Zerny has helped to arrange for the work to be completed.
Phil Lane, of Sutton, said: “This may not be an A-road but traffic comes hurtling along here and I have witnessed a couple of near misses since the road markings were removed.”
Councillor Brian Spurr, executive member for sustainable communities, services at Central Beds Council said: “Reducing the lining on roads is working well in a number of other locations because it encourages drivers to be more cautious.
“However, because of the strength of feeling about this particular road we have agreed for them to be installed again.
“This is a good example of how we have worked together with Councillor Zerny and the community to bring about a solution that everyone is content with.”
Mr Zerny said: “I’m delighted the council has agreed to restore the lines.”
