65 new police officers are took part in their passing out parade at police headquarters on Thursday. 58 of them have just completed their twenty week training course, with the remainder having joined earlier in the year and already out on patrol.
“I am delighted to be celebrating the passing out of our new police officers,” said Chief Constable Colette Paul.
“I have had the pleasure of watching as they have grown and developed during their training. They are keen, enthusiastic and really want to get out and deliver a great service to the public of Bedfordshire.
“As soon as I arrived here as the new Chief Constable I made it clear I wanted to stop the pain that had been caused by the recruitment freeze.
“We have opened the force up to new thinking and new ideas, these officers come from all walks of life and will provide new life blood to the force.”
