Six new walks have been launched in a town.
Stotfold’s conservation group, Teasel, has produced the routes, which take walkers around the town and into the surrounding countryside.
The six linked walks were created by group member and keen walker, Louden Masterton, and his wife Gerry. He wanted to use his knowledge of the area to aid those who wished to explore further and those who are new to the area.
Pam Manfield, secretary of Teasel, said, “The Stotfold town plan clearly shows how much residents value the green spaces in and around the town and how much these are used for recreation and exercise by people of all ages.
“Louden’s walks leaflets will be very much appreciated. The librarian has commented that numbers of people, especially those new to the town, have been asking if anything like this existed.”
The walks, which have been printed on leaflets, were launched on Saturday .
Copies of the leaflets are available for free from several places in Stotfold; the library, Cards ‘n’ Crafts, Doug’s Barber Shop, the town council offices and Stotfold Watermill on open days.
They will also soon be available to download from www.teasel-info.co.uk
The website will also have a combined map of all the walks plus notes on the animals and plants that people may see at different times of the year, which was compiled by Pam Manfield and Larry Stoter.
