What is the event?: Land’s End to John O’Groats charity cycle ride.
When and where?: We set off Sunday, August 24 and will be arriving at John O’Groats on Wednesday.
What the event entails: The cycle route is just over 1,000 miles long and will involve 10 days cycling with a rest day tomorrow.
Who is taking part?: Luke Gledhill, Thomas Addison and Jenny Ward. All 21yrs old. All members of Royal Holloway University of London Cycling Club.
Charity: Médecins sans Frontières
Why have you chosen this charity? It is a worthwhile charity to fundraise for.
The challenges and difficulties we will face during the ride will be nothing like those faced by the Médecins sans Frontières staff and those they seek to help.
How are you preparing for the event? Many hours spent in the saddle!
How can people support you? People can support us by donating to the charity and maybe we will exceed the target of £2,000!
Any other interesting information: Luke and Jenny have just graduated from Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL).Luke was RHUL Cycle Club Captain 2013-2014. Thomas is entering the final year of a four-year course.
All members are committed to Cycling and feel that whilst taking on a personal challenge they can help others who are in really difficult situations.
