An 76-year-old lady was been seriously injured in a road traffic collision.

The incident happened in Brunel Drive in Biggleswade at 12.35pm on Saturday, December 22.

The 33 year old driver of a green Ford Mondeo was not injured in the collision but the 76-year-old pedestrian was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital suffering with serious head and chest injuries. She remains in hospital in a serious condition at this time.

The officer in charge of this investigation, PC Anthony Winter, of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Collision Investigation Unit, is keen to trace anyone who witnessed the collision but has not already contacted the police.

PC Winter said: “The lady was walking with a 10-year-old child at the time of the collision and luckily the child was not injured. I would make an appeal to urge anyone who has not already spoken to the police to contact me to help this investigation.”

Anyone who witnessed this collision can contact PC Winter on 01438 757500 or contact Bedfordshire Police on 101.
