Plans for Victoria Pendleton parade

Plans for a celebratory home-coming event for Victoria Pendleton are being put in place.

Stotfold Town Council hopes to welcome the Olympic gold medallist home with a cycle ride from the town to Etonbury Academy in Arlesey.

A reception would then be held at the school where Stotfold-born Victoria could meet fans.

But the council has so far been unable to confirm a date.

Assistant town clerk Mandy Howard said: “We have spoken to Victoria’s management company but we haven’t been able to confirm anything just yet. She’s quite busy at the moment but it shouldn’t be long – it’s just a case of when she’s free!”
