Police team up with charity to stop hate crime
Partnership formed with Stop Hate UK
Police have teamed up with a national charity to combat hate crime against people in Bedfordshire.
Beds Police will be working closely with Stop Hate UK to provide support and advice to victims of abuse and violence relating to age, disability, gender identity, race, religion and sexual orientation.
The partnership will also work with Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships and voluntary agencies, in a bid to improve the reporting of hate crime and increase support to victims, in turn increasing public confidence.
If you're a victim of hate crime, you can send a text message to 07717 989 025, log on to the Stop Hate UK website at www.stophateuk.org, or call the charity's 24-hour helpline on 0800 138 1625.
Alternatively, you can contact Beds Police and speak directly to an officer by calling 01234 841212, or sending a text message to 07786 200011.
