Police hunt 'sock' robbers

Teenage victim threatened by two men

Police are appealing for the driver of a silver car to come forward and help them identify two men who threatened a teenager with a metal object in a sock.

The incident happened between 3.50pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday, February 23, in Abbey Drive in Hart Hill.

The 16-year-old victim managed to grab the weapon before he was hit with it but the offenders punched him in the face before leaving empty handed.

It is thought that one of the offenders discarded a bicycle into the road during the incident and the driver of a silver car had to swerve to avoid it.

Investigating officer Det Con Kaysie Conroy is keen to trace the driver of the silver car.

Anyone with information relating to this incident should contact Det Con Conroy on 01234 841212, send a text to 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
