Pool players had a ball in Shefford
CHARITY pool players raised £300 for the Royal British Legion (RBL) at a fundraiser.
The White Hart Hotel in Shefford was the venue for the event last Thursday (January 26), which saw players from the hotel take on rivals from DISC Chicksands.
White Hart landlord and landlady Beckie Philpott and Matthew Lyttle hosted the event, which raised the sum through entry fees, donations and a raffle.
At the start of the evening the couple were presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Poppy Appeal.
Brian McGivena, chairman of the Shefford branch of the RBL gave the certificate to Beckie and Matt in recognition of their ongoing support for the RBL.
The hotel organises regular book sales and also hosts the reception following the Remembrance Sunday parade.
Mr McGivena said: “The Shefford branch committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part and supported the event.”
