Take pride in your town with a special day next week.
Central Beds Council is holding a Pride in Sandy event on Friday (September 27).
There have been seven Pride In events in Central Bedfordshire since the initiative was launched in 2011.
The Central Bedfordshire Community Safety Partnership will use the event to engage with the local community.
Representatives from the local councils, the police, British Transport Police, Neighbourhood Watch and Aragon Housing Association will all be present to talk with visitors.
Activities will be taking place across Sandy to improve the environment and to give environmental advice to residents about such subjects as waste recycling and dog fouling.
Agencies will also be able to give crime prevention and safety advice. The organisations will be in the market square with stalls and information.
Local councillors will also be present to talk to visitors about whether Sandy is a safe and comfortable place to live.
This will also be a good chance to find out about volunteering in the community.
Plus the fire service will have free smoke alarms.
