The James Figg pub has an award-winning new head chef – and he’s launching a brand new menu.

Old favourites such as the popular James Figg Burger will remain, but Jack Bull, 24, who won the Staffordshire Young Chef of the Year Award in 2010, hopes that his new culinary offerings will go down a storm with punters.

The chef, who admires celebrity cook Tom Kerridge, said: “It’s amazing in this company how much support is given to the new head chef.

“Goldie the general manager has supported me the whole way through.

“We’ve got a lovely tart on the menu with mushrooms, cheddar and spinach.

“But we are keeping our best sellers too.”

Jack, who was the sous chef at fellow Peach Pubs establishment The Thatch, added: “It’s pub food done really well, with a little twist. Every single thing we are going to serve is free range.”

The new menu launches next week.
