Staff and pupils from an academy highlighted the plight of the homeless during a sponsored sleepout.
Youngsters from Henlow Academy made their own cardboard refuge, bedded down under the stars and were awoken the next day with porridge.
The 25 pupils from Year Eight and eight members of staff were raising money for the LAMP charity that supports homeless people in Luton. Head of Year Eight Ian Lee, who organised the sleepout said: “I think it’s really important that pupils didn’t just raise money for LAMP but that they actually experienced a snapshot of being homeless.
“The pupils have been very reflective about the night out sleeping rough. Thanks must also go to the staff who slept out.”
