Schoolchildren received a visit from the Bishop of St Albans.

The Right Reverend Alan Smith spent a morning with the children of Sutton Lower School.

He was shown how the school is working with the new computing curriculum and how the youngsters use several different types of technology within a single lesson.

He also led the school in collective worship and even design a rocket in the foundation stage.

Year Four pupil Connor said: “I thought Bishop Alan would be very different; I thought he would be all dressed up and he was just really nice!”

After his visit to Sutton Bishop Alan, who has been in post since 2009, travelled to the House of Lords to attend the debate about Ukraine.
