Roxton farm shop helps the homeless

For the second year running Garden Friends Farm Shop will help the homeless at Christmas.

The shop, which is based at Roxton Garden Centre, will donate any unsold fruit vegetables and to Clarenden Street Homeless Shelter in Bedford.

When the shop closes at for Christmas at lunchtime on Christmas Eve Jenny Clifford from the Park Road Methodist Church will collect the produce.

The church is around the corner from the homeless shelter.

Shop owner Val Howson said: “This is a busy time of year for homeless shelters and we can all play our part in a small way.”
