It may seem early to be thinking about the carnival.
But members of the Sandy Carnival Committee are working hard to make next summer’s event a success.
At their annual meeting last week they confirmed that the theme will be Anything Goes and the date will be Saturday, June 14.
The organisers hope the open theme will encourage more people to take part in the parade.
The committee gave donations to Shefford Majorettes for their dedication to entertaining people despite the downpour at last year’s event, Nexus Drum and Bugle Corp, Sandy Scouts, Sandy Football Club, The Leprosy Mission, Sandy Skatepark and Sandy Community Volunteer Task Force.
Members decided that the committee will cover the cost of insurance for the floats in the 2014 parade.
Hayley Stewart was re-elected as the chairman, Tracey Fountain will be the vice chair, Roger Burton the treasurer and Lorna Tucker the secretary.
Anyone who would like to help can join the next meeting in the Kings Arms pub at 7.45pm on Tuesday, November 26.
