Sandy Show a roaring success as 800 visitors flock to see entries

The Punch and Judy stall at the Sandy Show

The Sandy Show, was held last Saturday, at Sandye Place Academy.

Over 800 visitors came to the show, many with young families, whose children were able to take full advantage of the entertainment including a Punch & Judy Show and the ice cream and fair rides.

Chairman, Andrew Havergal, said: “We were delighted with the turnout again this year, despite us having to compete against other local events being held on the same day.

“Show entries were slightly down but very encouraging. On a very positive note, we had lots of entries in the children’s classes, where it was evident that there had been a great deal of time and creative effort spent crafting their entries. Well done to them, congratulations to those who won a trophy and let’s see even more of you taking part next year.”

The trophies were presented and the Show closed by The High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Colin Osborne. Winners were:
