See the machines of the steam era

A working steam weekend will showcase some of the steam driven machinery that revolutionised 19th century farming.

The event will be held at Stotfold Watermill tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday.

Visitors will see ploughing, threshing and woodcutting using steam power. Steam replaced hundreds of hours of laborious work done by men and horses.

The mill, tea room and gift shop will also be open. Visitors can also stop by adjoining the nature reserve.

Go along between 10.30am and 5pm on either day. Tickets cost £3 for adults, £2 for four to 16-year-olds and they are free for under fours.
