Service chaplain retires

The Rev Barbara Johnson has retired after 10 years as chaplain to Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Rev Barbara, who is also the priest on attachment to St Mary’s Church, Potton, was presented with a personalised sampler during the Sunday morning service.

The beautiful sampler was designed to record many of her favourite things and commemorating her time as the fire service chaplain.

The sampler had been made by churchwarden Hazel Różańska who helped with the presentation, which was made by the rector at St Mary’s, the Rev Gill Smith.

Rev Barbara has now been appointed as chaplain to a new ex-service organisation for former troops suffering from PTSD.
