More than 500 people from across Bedfordshire attended a service to mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War and the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

The service was held by Helen Nellis, Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, at St Mary’s Parish Church in Woburn on Sunday (May 11).

She is pictured with the church’s Reverend Steve Nuth, the Right Reverend Alan Smith, Bishop of St Albans and the Right Reverend Richard Atkinson, Bishop of Bedford.
