editorial image

Young scientists at an academy have won a place in the finals of a national competition.

The students from Samuel Whitbread Academy in Clifton will take on youngsters from around the country in the National Science + Engineering Competition.

Joel Greer, Ryan Ward, Tom Weir and Matt Reeves excelled in the regional heats of the contest with a project that explores the use of thermology on microspheres.

The four will now represent the academy at The Big Bang Fair in London in March next year.
