THREE friends are raising sponsorship money as they prepare for a hiking trip to Finland.
Daisymae Carter, 16, Zoe Brain, 16 and Zoe Swinburn, 19 will be visiting the country as part of the Roverway 2012 expedition in July.
The girls, who are all members of the Ivel Rangers unit in Biggleswade will meet other Rangers from all over the world during the nine-day visit.
When they arrive in Finland the three will join groups of up to 50 other youngsters and they will take part in a four-day hike in a region of the country.
They will then return for the Roverway camp which will include a variety of different events and activities.
Daisymae, who lives in The Grove and previously belonged to the 3rd Guides and Brownies group is now looking for help with funding.
She said: “We need to raise £1,000 each to pay for the trip. Last week we took part in a sponsored silence for two days which has helped to raise money and we are planning a tabletop sale and other events in the coming months as well.”
Daisymae, who attends Stratton Upper School says the trip will give the girls a valuable opportunity to mix with other Rangers and enjoy new experiences.
She added: “There will be representatives from across the globe and when I get back I will be visiting other units to talk about the trip and what was involved.”
