Town is open for businesses

A town mayor is encouraging more businesses to sign up for a new organisation.

Shefford mayor Councillor Paul Mackin has seen 22 businesses join Shefford Open 4 Business, but he is keen to attract more.

Open 4 Business is a new, chamber of trade-like organisation in the town which will look out for companies operating in the area.

Mr Mackin said: “We have a good number of firms involved. So far it has been the town council that has been leading things though and we are very keen to pass on the running of Shefford Open 4 Business to the companies themselves.”

The Federation of Small Businesses has also provided advice and guidance.
