A major litter pick and advice on crime will feature in a forthcoming pride event.

Central Beds Council, Beds Police and Beds Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) will be coming together to stage the Pride in Biggleswade event on Wednesday, March 20.

Biggleswade Town Council and the Aragon Housing Association will also be taking part.

Central Beds staff will be in Market Square to offer advice about housing, waste, adult social care, housing and volunteering.

The waste minimisation team will be hosting a big litter pick in the Mead End area of the town and a dog warden will be on hand to talk to people about dog fouling concerns.

Council officers will also be talking to young people about their needs and visiting schools.

The BFRS will be giving advice and fitting free fire alarms, while the police will also be offering help and assistance.

Sergeant Gary Kidd from Beds Police said: “The police team will be based at the ASDA car park in Church Street and we will be offering crime
prevention advice as well as securing vehicle number plates with tamper-resistant screws.”
