ROMANCE was alive and well at a pharmacy when staff held a Valentine’s Day fundraiser.
Lloyds Pharmacy in Biggleswade Market Square was resplendent in red on Tuesday for the charity event in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
In exchange for a donation to the BHF customers could write a message to a loved one. Twenty-five balloons were later gathered together and released into the market square.
Shoppers could also make a donation and secure a number in a charity giveaway.
Numbers will be put in a hat and a winning one will be taken out.
The winner will receive a complimentary makeover and skin consultation session at the pharmacy.
Workers will also be wearing red for the day to raise more money on Friday (February 17).
Manager Jane Dear said: “Some of the messages were romantic but others were written for late loved ones, and children took part too.”
