Valentine’s fundraiser at store
A supermarket will be putting shoppers in the mood for love at a fundraising cookery evening.
Sainsbury’s in Biggleswade will be holding the charity event in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust on Thursday, February 7.
Sian Fox from the Sainsbury’s Try Team will be putting on the demonstration with Biggles FM DJ Stuart Bond at the store’s coffee shop.
The Try Team organises fundraising and community events at branches of Sainsbury’s across the country.
The BCRT – which works to improve outcomes for people with primary bone cancer – is the Biggleswade store’s nominated charity for 2012/13.
Sian said: “We regularly put on fundraising events at different stores and we wanted to arrange one that involves cooking.
“Valentine’s is a time when a lot of people start to think about cooking again and we hope this event will reflect that.”
Tickets are £5 including a glass of bubbly and a raffle ticket, and all proceeds will go to the BCRT.
They can be bought in advance from the customer services desk at the branch.
The evening will start at 7.30pm and there will be a variety of food and drink for ticket-holders to sample.
