Solar panel will be removed from a community building due to ongoing vandalism.

Sandy Town Council will remove the panels from the Jenkins Pavilion because they have been damaged so frequently in the last two years that it is not practical to keep them in place.

The panels heated water for the showers.

Mayor Susan Sutton said: “Criminal damage and antisocial behaviour such as the smashing of glass down at Sunderland Road Recreation Ground is a real headache for this community and all tax payers are paying for the selfish behaviour of a very small minority of people.”
