VIDEO: Drugs factory in Sandy

Waiting for Video...

A HUGE cannabis factory has been discovered in an abandoned warehouse.

More than 3,000 plants were being grown and cultivated in the factory in Sandy, which was closed down by Bedfordshire Police on Monday (February 6).

Detective constable Richard Adams, who led the investigation, described the operation as “complex” and “meticulously planned.”

He added that the chosen location, the industrial estate at Stockton End, shouldn’t have raised suspicions.

But officers arrived at the Stockton End site after receiving a report of suspicious activity.

A 28-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
