Walk by the riverside this September
A packed series of summer walks is drawing to a close.
Sandy Tourist Information Centre’s final session of the year is a river and lakes walk.
The walk, which is part of the Bedfordshire Walking Festival, will take place on Tuesday, September 11. The route is based on one of the six walks around Sandy contained in the Sandy: Jubilee Walks leaflet, which was published earlier this year and is available from the TIC.
The walk goes alongside the River Ivel between Sandy and Blunham, taking in rich water meadows and man-made lakes as well as local wildlife.
Walkers will return to Sandy along the Route 51 cycle track.
To take part in the free event just meet at the TIC at 2.30pm. The walk may be shortened on the day if required.
The previous summer walk, which was held on Sunday, August 19, took participants around the historic village of Cardington.
