A crackdown on commuter parking in Biggleswade will see new restrictions being introduced in four roads.
A Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) is to be enforced covering Dells Lane, Tennyson Avenue, Chaucer Drive and Dickens Court following ongoing complaints from residents.
Homeowners in the roads say commuter parking has become so reckless that pedestrian safety is being jeopardised.
There have also been reports that emergency vehicles have struggled to use the roads as access has been blocked by commuter vehicles parked in the area while their owners travel to and from London on the train.
Biggleswade Town Council’s traffic management committee will recommend to full council that it applies for the TRO, which will prevent motorists parking in the roads for more than an hour at a time in the mornings.
Further TROs could also be introduced.
